The applicant, Nigerian national, is originally from the former State of Bendel, split in two and become State of Edo for one and State of Delta for the other and he was recruited by a trafficking network, subjected to the “juju” ceremony. The applicant was forced into prostitution in Libya, Italy, Germany, then in France. The applicant has managed to escape that network and she claim not to be able to return to her country of origin due to fear of being persecuted because of her membership in the social group of women from the States of 'Edo and Delta. She claimed to be a victim of a network of human trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation, and the CNDA granted refugee status to the applicant.

The CNDA based its findings on recent and updated country of origin information with regard to human trafficking of women originating from the two States, Edo and Delta.

The decision of the CNDA extended the geographical scope of a previous decision of 16 October 2019 (B. A. v. OFPRA, n ° 418328) beyond the sole territory of Edo state. The CNDA noted that the Delta state has recently become a privileged place of recruitment of victims of Nigerian trafficking networks for the purpose of prostitution.
